THE ANIMA CHRISTI Prayer

From the EWTN website

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.

Body of Christ, save me.

Blood of Christ, inebriate me.

Water from the side of Christ, wash me.

Passion of Christ, strengthen me.

O good Jesus, hear me.

Within Thy Wounds hide me.

Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.

From the malignant enemy, defend me.

In the hour of my death, call me,

And bid me to come to Thee.

That with Thy saints, I may praise Thee.

Forever and ever.

Amen.

Our own wounds and suffering

I reached out to Kim after reading her post on suffering emptying us. Kim talks about three steps when we go through suffering

-Acknowledging our wounds and suffering

-Consenting to the suffering

-Surrendering to the will of God.

Kim repeats this many times through the podcast, “you are not alone. God is with you, and we need to unite with Him.” Because no pain is wasted with the Lord. Every hardship, every wound, every pain is used by the Lord to draw us to Him. I recently watched the documentary on the wounds of Jesus and it’s almost hard to compare our suffering to His. Kim says He underwent rejection, betrayal even as a child and so He understands us better than anyone else. This episode is filled with encouragement for someone going through a hard time.

How do you deal with suffering?
