I released my book trailer for In Other Words on my newsletter last week. Then my Facebook page and now here. Yes, Twitter readers will see it last.
Book Trailer: In Other Words
It’s a long story how this trailer came to be. I spent a while collecting pics and creating a collage. And since this book is about a pianist and music heavily features throughout the book, it was important to get the right song.
I spent days playing tracks and listening to samples. There was always something off about each of them. And I wondered if I needed to push my launch date because nothing seemed to be getting ready on the marketing front. I spent a lot of time trying loops and riffs, agonizing over the trailer along with the manuscript.
Finally, I came across Roger that’s Wedding love song and dismissed it. I thought with a cheesy title it wouldn’t be great. I went hunting again. Only to stumble on the song again. When I first played the sample, I was quite blown away. It’s a beautiful song. And it just fit with my book and trailer.
And that’s how we chose the title track for the book trailer of In Other Words. It’s amazing how it sounds.
Background Score
I don’t even know who Roger That is. I tried to locate the artist just to thank him and say how grateful I am for such lovely lyrics. I can’t seem to find any info online. He does have a fantastic voice. And the piano…. I just love it!
I give him full credit for his work. And want to send him a million thanks for writing and composing this song.
Creating the Book Trailer
Since the book is based in Maine, features a Korean woman and focuses on the piano, it wad hard to create a very specific collage for the book. Every element, had to be searched and the tested. In the end, this is what we came up with and I’m quite happy with the results. Thanks to everyone who put so much effort into this trailer for In Other Words.
