This week Lisa Freed shares her own autumn romance, Waiting on You. Lisa’s story was also part of the Roane Publishing anthology that would have featured Starting Over.
Here’s what Lisa says about writing her story.
As a lover of Summer, Fall has never been my favorite time of year, simply because it means Summer is over. However, I love the changing colors, the soft breezes, and, of course, the march of upcoming holidays.
When an open submission came out to write a short and sweet story centered in Fall, I was uncertain. Then a friend told me to write about a subject that I had been complaining to her about all year. You see, Fall also brings about school back in session and yes, the pick-up line.
So, while sitting in the pick-up line waiting to get my son from school, I thought up Waiting for You. It’s my first attempt at a sweet and clean romance but definitely will not be my last.
Here’s the Blurb of Waiting on You:
Terrin Tompkins, back in PA after a prolonged time away, owes a lot to her BFF Sarah, so much so she wouldn’t dream of saying no when Sarah asks a little favor. Pick up her son after school, sounds so easy. And would be if a certain someone didn’t think they were more important than others and line cut every chance they get!
Greg Yorkton really doesn’t think his time’s more important, he just has a bad habit of losing track of time and he can’t be late to pick up his nephews. Surely Terrin can understand that? Greg is just helping out his widowed brother-in-law, Steve, who just might be perfect for Terrin, if he can get the two of them together.
Will Terrin find unexpected romance with pediatrician Steve or will Greg finally see that she’s been waiting for someone like him?
